Effective time management often requires a delicate balance between privacy and interaction with c0lleagues. Borders can be retrofitted to most Performance laminate workstations in a manner that allows you to define your workspace the way you want. Whether you choose 24″ or 36″ high panels for complete privacy, 12″ panels for moderate privacy, Borders has a solution that will work for you and your colleagues. Borders panels are attached with screws being screwed down into your worksurface and are available in frosted acrylic or Visconti fabric screens with a silver or black frame. Each screen comes with a filler panel for in-between screens if desired.

Since cubicles are often installed in areas with multiple employees, it’s important to leave enough room for comfortable movement and foot traffic.

Plan for at least 48” of walkway space around the outside perimeter of your cubicle banks. This allows for heavier traffic and occasional two-way traffic. Inner walkways between rows of cubicles can be smaller but should still have at least 42” of clearance.

You should also allow at least 42” of chair space between the front of the desk and the back wall of the cubicle. This provides enough room to sit comfortably and move around at your desk without feeling cramped.

Maximize your space with upper storage. Instead of using storage under desks or in walkways, consider storage that mounts above the desk on the cubicle panels. This frees up legroom and reduces obstructions that can interfere with important walkways.
